My Story
Throughout my life I always enjoyed playing video games. I started at a young age playing the old Game Cube that my brother had on our box tv. From there I was playing Call of Duty on the Xbox 360 and running around at the airport in GTA IV. I snagged my own Xbox One and played countless hours of Destiny and Borderlands 2. I had to move over to the PS4 after my Xbox One broke and Microsoft refused to update me on the status of its repair. Eventually I found myself on PC enjoying Minecraft, Fortnite and the odd game of Counter-Strike.
I never really understood what Esports truly was until I started to play Counter-Strike more often and noticed that the 2021 Stockholm major was about to begin. I purchased my pick-em coin and for not knowing a single thing about Counter-Strike esports besides the FaZe Clan logo I managed to watch a few games and get a gold coin.
Fast forward to the 2022 IEM Rio Major and I watched almost every match from the opening round to the grand finals. I was enamored by the production, excitement and storytelling that was being conveyed on screen. I watched FURIA walk out in their semi-finals match up against Heroic and that was it. My moment. I said to myself watching that match that I wanted to be apart of that experience.
I graduated from University in 2024 and had no direction or goals. So I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in Esports. Thankfully, my local college offered a program that introduces what the space is and learn skills that are transferable in a real world environment. I began the Esports Administration and Entrepreneurship program in September of 2024 and got the opportunity to get hands on experience in production from casting, observing, and directing live shows.
For the last 2 years I've worked alongside some amazing colleagues and been given great
opportunities to expand my skillset in the esports production world. I am hungry for more and
while my path to being full time in esports is nowhere near close I am working everyday towards this goal.
